On December 15, the British analytical company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) published a rating “QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe and Central Asia – 2022” the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics ranked 221-230, which significantly improved its position and entered the top 50% of QS EECA.
Among Ukrainian universities, NURE ranks 12th, and among Kharkiv – 3rd place after KhNU and KhPI.
As you can see, the QS rating largely depends on the opinion of the academic community, in particular foreign experts – experts of academic reputation. Therefore, quality work with experts is the key to maintaining high positions and promotion in the ranking against the background of growth of both participants and efforts of other universities in the region.
For reference: the ranking of universities in developing countries in Europe and Central Asia – QS EECA – one of the world’s most influential rankings of universities, currently covers 450 universities from Eastern Europe and Central Asia. This year, the number of Ukrainian universities in this ranking increased to 41 compared to 25 last year. The QS EECA methodology is based on the following criteria: assessment of the academic community (weight share 30%), responses of global business representatives (20%), teacher-student ratio (10%), the share of foreign teachers (2.5%), the share of foreign students (2.5%), research (30%), Web Impact according to Webometrics (5%).

The Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics participates in the eighteenth International Exhibition “EDUCATION of Kharkiv Region – 2021”, which takes place on November 24-25 in the Palace of Students of NLU named after Yaroslav Mudry. During the opening of the event, the First Vice-Rector of NURE Igor Ruban addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of such events, because in this way future students have the opportunity to get acquainted with higher education institutions of the Kharkiv region and make a balanced choice of future profession.
As part of the event, the University of Radio Electronics presented its educational programs to entrants. Serhiy Kytayenko, a representative of the NURE Admissions Committee, and Vsevolod Krasnikov, Olesya Kostikova and Elizaveta Devyatova, volunteers – students, acquainted future entrants with the available specialities and such prospects as double degree programs.
It will be recalled that the target audience of the exhibition “EDUCATION of Kharkiv Region – 2021” is schoolchildren, graduates of vocational schools, students of higher educational institutions, as well as specialists who plan to improve their skills in Ukraine.

The competition for mobility during the 2021-2022 academic year in the spring semester for the field of ICT (code 067 according to the international standard of UNESCO – ISCED) is announced at the Higher School of Engineering ECAM-EPMI, Sergi, France. For masters of the second year of study in order to prepare a master’s thesis for 2 months from 28.03.2022 to 30.05.2022. For graduate students, starting from the second year of study, for two to four months. On October 21, the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics hosted an open meeting on the use of AWS Academy (AWS Academy. The best way to teach students about Cloud technology). The meeting was attended by the rector of KNURE Valeriy Semenets and the representative of the IT sphere Andriy Kostromytsky.

On October 19, 2021, a joint online meeting of the higher education sector and Scientific and Methodological Commissions of the higher education sector of the Scientific and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Head of the Department of Physics Kovalenko O.M. took part in the meeting. General Director of the Directorate of Professional Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Sharov O.I. made a report on the tasks of the higher education sector of the scientific-methodical council and scientific-methodical commissions in 2021/22 and the state of development of higher education standards. After the report, Sharov O.I. answered the questions of the meeting participants. and the head of the department of the content of education and modernization of the educational process Didusenko S.I.

The British publication Times Higher Education published subject rankings of universities. In particular, THE publishes an overall world ranking, subject rankings, an impact rating, and three regional ranking tables. The weight indicators of the subject ranking Engineering and Computer science are as follows:
Teaching: learning environment – 30%
Research: volume, income and reputation – 30%
Quotes: research impact – 27.5%
International perspectives: staff, students and research – 7.5%
Revenue: innovation – 5%.
The right to be included in the subject rankings of Engineering and Computer science is determined by two criteria: the threshold of publication in the discipline (1000 for 5 years) and the number of academic staff in the discipline.
This year, the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics in the ranking of Computer Science took a position in the group 401-500, in Engineering – in the group 801-1000.
A total of 891 universities in Computer Science were rated, compared to 827 last year, and 1,188 universities in Engineering, compared to 1,098 last year.
Among Ukrainian universities, NURE took 2nd place in subject rankings in both Computer Science and Engineering.
To advance in subject rankings it is necessary to increase the number of publications and their impact in indexed academic publications, to attract more teachers in basic and applied research, to create a more attractive environment for foreign students and teachers.
